So as promised, here is the extra special gift I gave Jared.
Please note: THIS IS MY FIRST SCRAPBOOK EVER!!!
I know it is really simple and a little boring on the color side...but that's Jared. He doesn't like a whole lot of color, he likes neutrals.
{When I was in Florida over Thanksgiving JoAnne gave me all of Jared's childhood in a bag, and told me she hoped I could do something with them. I thought that it would be the perfect holiday activity and surprise. I spent HOURS on it and it is only halfway finished, I still have his late childhood/teenage stuff. But this is it for a few months.}
What a cute kid huh?? I can't wait to see what our children look like, who will dominate the looks?! Hmm...we shall see.
Soooo....It was quite the Christmas in these parts!! And to make up for my lack of posting I am going to do a whammy of a post...brace yourself now!
We had TWO Christmas days this year...because our family decided to go to a cabin. Therefore, Jared and I shared our first Christmas together early, then later in Deer Valley with the family...so enjoy!
We started by doing our Christmas here together...and boy did we do a Christmas. I was so tired the night before from trying to finish the shopping (EARLY mind you) as well as finish up all my work deadlines. So as a result I literally passed out on our "Christmas Eve". Jared, being the sneaky man he is, sneakily got out of bed and did my stocking, when the agreement was we would wake up, get each others' stockings, do them in our offices and bring them out....as you can see in my video...Jared cheated on our agreement!!
{the cookies and milk waiting for Santa}
{After "Santa" only filled my stocking}
{the morning of...while I was filling Jared's stocking}
{opening gifts}
{My HUGE gift...a professional waffle maker}
{a cookbook stand for my kitchen}
{A spoon holder/tray for my spoons}
{wireless headphones for the TV, iPod, or whatever...I think this gift was more for Jared so I can quietly watch TV while he does homework lol}
{storage boxes}
{my wonderful stocking}
{mani/pedi set, reading light and scarf}
{slippers}
{mugs and a candle}
Note: I tried to take pictures/video of Jared with all his gifts, but he refused to let me post anything...but I think he was happy with his Christmas too, it took him all day to tinker with his new toys.
We even did our own little gingerbread house.
It was great...until it fell over 5 minutes later..
{Jared didn't want to help...other than tell me what to do}
{He wanted Santa on the roof}
{AND his sleigh}
{The finished product}
{5 minutes later...maybe having Santa and his sleigh on the roof was a bad idea}
At the Cabin...
so you might have to forgive me for not taking a ton of photos, but I figured my mom would...feel free to check her blog out to see more...HERE
As you can imagine, having the ENTIRE family together for a holiday in one location (A family first in a long time) it was a little crazy. There were kids always running around and making noise, while the adults all visited and had fun. I personally got addicted to puzzles...I spent hours on end doing a 3D puzzle of avatar (mom took photos), as well as a Christmas surprise for Jared (I will post about this a little later...so stay tuned)
{the lovely view from the deck}
{The kids were having sooo much fun on the iPods and phones...}
{Having fun sledding}
{just to give you an idea of how deep the snow was}
{our Christmas feast! Candied yams, orange rolls, twice baked potatoes, cheesy potatoes, honey baked ham, green beans, apple pie, and lots of snacky desserts}
{just before our feast}
I thought considering Jared had never been to old Main St in Park City, it was a must see!
We had fun...
{I loved this hat on Jared!}
{we went to lunch at an Irish pub, amazing Reuben!}
So I saw these ADORABLE little paper bags while I was in Florida and
just HAD to have them
I had no idea what I would do with them, but just new at $1.14 for 10 bags, I couldn't say no.
Then it hit me...I have about 10 neighbors! Perfect little neighborhood gift, a paper bag filled with none other than....
White Trash
{Don't get too worried...its delicious! Basically whatever you have in your pantry, rice chex, pretzels, popcorn, I used macadamia nuts, milk chocolate chips and of course you have to mix it all in melted white chocolate}
I thought I would share my Christmas decorations and little craft...
I
L.O.V.E.
Christmas! So enjoy...
{Our little hutch...lit up with led lights under the lladro nativity(spanish..has a special meaning to me because of serving my mission there and seeing the stores)}
{Our kitchen counter display, Christmas card box (my holiday favorite, to see all the changes)}
