Dad's addition...

I thought this was something funny and cute to post while waiting for the onsie/page post. The other night Jared randomly just got up and said, "I want to do a craft!" So I gave him what he asked for, the extra nursery fabric, elastic, felt and a needle and thread. I asked him if he needed any help and he said, "no, I am an Eagle Scout, I know how to sew" :)

I just sat on the couch and worked on my computer while he worked away on his special addition to the nursery. It was fun to watch him crafting so intently, he knew what he wanted and how he wanted it to look. I wasn't allowed to see the final project until it met his standards...here it is....
It is a door silencer...it makes the door capable of shutting, but not clicking. That way we can check on the babies and not wake them up. Didn't he do a fantastic job? I am so proud of my sweetie and I know the babies will love it too!

  1. What a cute and practical Idea! Jared, You came up with a Great idea! Did you use any "padding" in between the fabric layers? BTW Great going on Eagle! My hubby retired from 30 years as a professional Scouter from Pasadena CA.in 2009, and I worked for the Scout office...that's how we met!

    1. He did put 3 layers of felt in the little fabric pillow, and he used an upholstery fabric for more heavy duty wear and tear. I did marry a sweetie, didn't I :)

  4. Love it, that is a great idea. I think I will do one for my little fella's room. He is two and a half but I still check on him when he takes a long, long nap. You will use this for a long time.
